A Good Song Can Make You Brave

One of the reasons I am so dedicated to my yoga practice is because it makes me feel strong. And I don’t mean strong in the I-can-hold-plank-for-three-minutes sense, although that is a fun little side effect. I mean it fills me with calmness, equanimity and a steadiness of mind that leads me to believe I can handle life’s challenges, quests and adventures. That, to me, is what strength really is.

Strength is also vulnerability. It takes a softness of heart to be open enough to voice ones dreams out loud and then to follow them in the face of setbacks and fear.

But sometimes we need little an extra push to inspire us to try harder and to forge ahead.

That’s what the songs in today’s playlist sound like to me.

Little nudges of strength, vulnerability and courage.

Because a good song can make you brave. If you let it.

Not familiar with these so I'll have to check em out. 🙂 I would definitely add Florence+Machine Shake it Out to the list! It's a simply brilliant, uplifting, self empowering song.
