“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
When a 5-year-old girl set up a “Pink Lemonade for Peace” stand directly across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church Headquarters in Kansas, the entire community came out to show their support.
Five-year-old Jayden Sink purposefully set up business outside of The Equality House Friday afternoon after her parents explained the cultural significance of the building and the longstanding harassment by the hate-mongering WBC members.
The rainbow-colored house located directly across the street from the WBC is intended to serve as a ‘symbol of equality, peace, and positive change’ and serves as a resource center for all of the Planting Peace Organization’s LGBT equality and anti-bullying initiatives.
According to young Jayden, it was her father Jon Sink, founder of the philanthropic arts group FRESHCASSETTE – Creative Compassion, who compelled her to raise money for the Planting Peace Organization.
Once again, WBC could not be reached for comment.
