kristin glenn seamly.co
Kristin Glenn is the founder of Seamly.co, a sustainable apparel company focused on minimizing waste and localizing production. She’s spent the last few years learning about how clothes are made—from cotton cooperatives in Nicaragua to garment factories in North Carolina. Now, she produces super-versatile apparel for women in Denver, Colorado and Portland, Oregon.

Amy Marquis of National Park Experience: A Film Series.

Director and National Parks Magazine editor Amy Marquis will talk about the importance of engaging more Americans in the national parks—especially those who don’t yet see themselves as part of the national park story—and how she’s using film, National Park Experience: A Film Series, to do it. Additionally, Amy made an award-winning film about Yosemite a couple years ago. Definitely give it a quick watch, because it was major inspiration for this series. We’re a Boulder-based team with lots of really cool projects under our belt, and an insatiable love for compelling park stories that we cannot wait to share with the world!

Press Release:

LEADING GREEN NATIONAL WALK THE TALK SHOW WITH WAYLON LEWIS ANNOUNCES NEW SEASON

Series Features Mindful “Enlightainment” With Live Tapings Held in Boulder, Colorado.

Boulder, Colorado—Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis, a leading green national talk show produced in Boulder, Colorado (since 2008) announces its return. Once a popular, trail-blazing internet-based show, it was canceled after elephant magazine put out its last issue and went online, becoming elephantjournal.com. After four years of rebuilding, during which Walk the Talk Show has only taken place 20 times (featuring guests such as “Yoga Mogul” John Friend, Michael Pollan, Dr. Andrew Weil, Sister Helen Prejean (Dead Man Walking), Walk the Talk Show is back. And this time it’s got one of the leading “mindfulness” web sites in the world behind it. elephantjournal.com has been voted #1 in green on twitter two years running, and has 2.5 million unique readers a month (Google Analytics).

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis will offer weekly public taping to be held in Boulder (location not yet announced). The talk shows will be taped and live-streamed in front of a live studio audience of 100 people and produced as video segments hosted on youtube, elephantjournal.com along with elephant’s many allied sites. With a combined social media firepower of 300,000 facebook fans and 180,000 twitter followers, not to mention the popularity of the many guests and bands, Walk the Talk Show aims to be the first ubiquitous online-only talk show in television history.

Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis focuses on issues and personalities in sustainability, adventure, spirituality, education, consumerism, food, ecofashion, politics, wellness, the arts—”anything that helps us to live a good life that also happens to be good for others and our planet.”

“We’ve interviewed senators, congressmembers, Deepak Chopra, Bill McKibben…we’ve appeared at Sundance, Natural Products Expos, music and yoga festivals. We’ve headlined the historic Boulder Theater. But we’ve never had the chance to expand nationally—internationally—with a strong social and new media base. I’m very much looking forward to the opportunity to share the word about living a good, fun life beyond our core or choir,” Waylon Lewis says.

Adapting the classic talk show format—monologue, segment, two interviews and a band, with a houseband—Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis is free online, and open to the public in Boulder.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m. The show will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. There will be no admittance after the doors are closed at 5:50 pm, as this is a live taping. Following the shows, an after-party will take place at eco, local venues throughout Boulder with happy hour deals for Walk the Talk Show guests until 8:00 p.m.

Videos of the Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis are available for viewing on elephantjournal.com, as well as on pages of 20 partner host websites for a total of (tentatively) 30,000,000 unique viewers, making Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis—in only its second full season—the largest online talk show nationally.
