Are you listening to what the universe tells you? Do you see the signs?

Life will keep nudging us in the right direction, guiding us on a path toward truth. But we need to listen.

If we don’t, those little nudges will eventually turn into a big smack on the head—this is how and why we are presented with challenges in life.

It’s why we’re faced with breakups, traumas, accidents, disease, even death. Because if we didn’t listen before…we will now. It’s in the difficult moments we evolve, it’s where we’re tested and it’s where grow. We get what we need, not what we want.

So let’s make sure we use it!

Make a change, stop repeating old patterns, get out of your rut. Find your spark in life and when the going gets tough don’t ever, ever give up.

Know that you really do need this, or you wouldn’t be here right now.

Walk with your eyes wide open.

Listen to what the universe tells you.

Every experience you have is vital for the evolution of your consciousness.

About Rachel Brathen

Rachel is a yogi on a world tour. Born and raised in Sweden, she currently resides in the beautiful island of Aruba where she is busy teaching yoga at a resort in the mornings, coordinating retreats at noon, taking her three somewhat crazy dogs to the beach to keep up with the surf in the afternoon and trying to survive as a vegan (where no vegetables grow!) in the evenings. She firmly believes that life is not black or white – it’s black and white and blue and yellow with rays of pink and sparkle in between. You can teach yoga and still be a party animal. Meditate and ignore your spending problems. Be vegan and eat too much chocolate. Have a Swedish passport and live in the Caribbean. You can do anything, as long as it’s you! You can find Rachel on the beach, probably practicing her Astavakrasana, or on

  3. Destiny says:

You said everything I needed to be reassured of after another episode of seeing the same patterns in a challenging situation. Thank you for this article.

  4. Yvette says:

Damn. This was so short and sweet. I've read so many other lengthy posts on here that try to use creative and LARGE words, and "deepy" sounding sentiments to say absolutely nothing. But this post right here is point. Thank you.

Wow. Thank you. Talk about the universe speaking to you…This Is Exactly What I Needed To Read that my friends have been telling me and, apparently, the universe, and I have been completely ignoring it. Already survived one smack on the head, don’t want another one. Thank you.
