Leave the Vanilla World Behind: 5 Organic Sex Toys for a Spicy Sex Life. {Adult}

I recently discovered my connection between mindfulness and my exploration with BDSM.

I realized there are ways to keep sex organic, yet spare it from its general vanilla-ness. Want to kink up the bedroom but not participate in the over-consumption of our planet? Want to be Eco-friendly yet explore your sadomasochist side? Here are 5 options to try.

1. The Cucumber Dildo

Look for a nice smooth cucumber with minimal rough patches. Thoroughly clean the cucumber and put a condom on it before use. Sir Richards Condoms are vegan and they donate to countries in need; 1 condom for every condom purchased. I’d also suggest using organic vegan-friendly lubricant like Sliquids. Throw the cucumber away after one use (unless you’re super kinky and want to make your submissive eat it in a salad after… but I cannot recommend that).

Fun Fact: Drink too much? Want to avoid a hangover in the morning? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium so one wakes up refreshed and headache free!

2. The Organic Panty Gag

This one is simple. In fact, this item may already be in the bedroom dresser. Find a pair of organic cotton, hemp, or bamboo panties and use them as a gag. It’s generally hotter if the panties are worn for a few hours prior to the gag scene happening, this makes it more intimate for everyone involved. Panties can also be used for binding ankles as part of a bondage scene.

Fun Fact: Bamboo grows naturally and does not require the use of pesticides or herbicides. It does not require planting because the stalks can be cut off above ground and will continue to grow; they will be ready for another harvest in just a few short years.

3. The Ginger Root Butt Plug

This is some intense BDSM stuff here. Figging as it is commonly called, is the practice of inserting ginger that has been carved into a specific shape—usually a plug—into the anus or the vagina. This originated in Ancient Greece as a form of punishment on female slaves. Now it’s used in the kink community on well, their own slaves.

Fun Fact: Ginger ale eventually stemmed from a ginger beer made by the English and Colonial America as a remedy for diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

4. Fire and Ice

Get Hot.
Try a soy massage oil candle. These are a luxurious addition to the bedroom; light one up, pour it on, and massage away. They only heat up to body temperature so no worries about them getting too hot. The well-made products are paraben and sulfate-free and do not leave soy wax stains on the bed. I like the jimmyjane Afterglow candle in bourbon.

Be Cool.
It’s simple enough, freeze water into ice and then slowly caress the cube over your partner’s body. It’s cheap. It’s easy. And it gives an intense sensation that sends chills through every cell.

Fun Fact: During the Civil War, soybeans were used in place of coffee because real coffee was scarce.

5. The Switch

Find a branch (preferably one that’s already fallen from the tree). Smooth it out. Hit your sub with it. Keep to fattier areas of the body and avoid hitting over major organs, the spine, and extra bony places like the front of the knee, the clavicle, etc. The inner thigh and buttocks are great places to start.

Fun Fact: A mature tree removes almost 70 times more pollution than a newly planted tree.

There you have it, five fun ways to organically spice up your sex life.
