There is no better way to pass the time when one is healing from a nasty bout of the stomach flu then to aimlessly wander through the world wide web in search of enchantment and inspiration.
And let me assure you, there is an endless supply of brilliance out there
Though my body currently vacillates between weary and uncertain, each of my creative extremities (head included) is firing with technicolor stimulus. They say, let’s design, generate, fashion and construct something!
Enter Zheng Chunhui.
He is a Chinese sculptor who recently unveiled a wooden sculpture measuring 40 feet long. It took him four years to complete.
Four years.
The tree carving is based on a famous painting called “Along the River During the Qingming Festival,” which is a historical holiday reserved to celebrate past ancestors that falls on the 104th day after the winter solstice.
The Guinness World Records declared it to be the longest continuous wooden sculpture in the world.
I feel better already.
