The Key’s in the Mailbox.
The songwriter,
who stays out all night.
Leaves the light on,
forgetting his key in the lock.
She sneaks next door,
slips his key out
and peeks through the keyhole.
She adores what she spies.
She’s been hankering
for a next door lover.
Her wish is granted,
when he catches her in the act.
He tugs her inside
and what he gives her
is surprisingly, naughtier
than her wet daydreams.
He pours his words into
her listening presence.
Her heart song is
music to his ears.
He frequents her back door
as well.
To “borrow” a cup
of something sweet.
He uses her for inspiration
and
she grins because
her love-life is hot and wild.
