Somebody Knows. {Poem}

drifting in clouds

Ah, a dream lurking in the clouds.

How nice.
White on white.
I can not tell one from the other sometimes, but the contrast is divine.

You are my chosen side of a blank piece of paper.
One side always holds more appeal than the other,
Anyone who has ever looked off into the distance can tell you this much.

I let my eyes run across you
Until you fade in and out of view before me.
You distract with your abstract and hold my attention.

I’d like to write a book on you.
So be still while I capture all of you,
In this moment.

But it is too much in this expanding moment of consequences.
I might need help remembering to forget to remember you
And all that has occurred in the shadow of this sleepless night.

I’d like to write a book on you.
So be still while I capture all of you.
In this moment.

Where contrasts can be blinding.
As life seems but a dream.
