*Update: Vancouver commits to run on 100% renewable energy. Canadian city of 600,000 people is the latest to announce it will use only green energy for electricity, transportation, heating and air conditioning within 20 years.

More than 50% of the world’s population now live in cities, and it is having an increasingly detrimental impact on our planet.

A city can be a dirty place.

Nobody wants to live in or visit a dirty city. We’ve compiled a list of the cleanest cities around the world—the list is made up of cities, such as Amsterdam being home to over 600,000 bicycles, Vancouver, aiming to become the world’s greenest city by 2020 and Curitiba, Brazil, exchanging bags of waste with food tokens for adults and toys for children!
