Tomorrow will unfold tomorrow.
Let it not cast clouds over today’s promising skies.
Right now is unfolding right now.
Deep breaths.
Slow breaths.
Eyes closed.
Basking for a slow motion second.
Gathering courage.
Eyes open, heart open, ears eager.
Can we face ourselves right now?
See what’s in front of us, inside of us, alive in us.
Can we decide only to worry about this moment, here?
Try it.
I am.
I can’t.
My brain won’t let me.
Because worries belong to the tomorrows and maybes and what ifs of the world.
Right now we are free.
But only if we remember.
So, let’s remember.
Let’s bite into this moment.
Suck out its juicy meaning and spit out the sharp seeds of worry.
Chew on its ripe inspiration and rooted oak tree stillness.
Stretch out in its sunbeams of painful chaotic wisdom.
Grab this moment and offer it to yourself, fully.
See how it blooms in the palm of your hand, then slowly slips away.
Pure perfection.
Deep breaths.
Slow breaths.
Eyes closed.
Eyes open, heart open, ears eager.
Tomorrow will unfold tomorrow.
Let it not cast clouds over today’s promising skies.
Put tomorrow promptly to sleep.
And stay here.
In the beautiful, raw messiness of today.
