Stargazing & Wine.

dark side of the moon

Leave your shoes behind, darling, for only bare feet are allowed from here.

Leave your weighty worries, too.

Only wide open hearts are allowed from here.

Step onto the grass with naked toes and a naked soul.

Take my hand and hold it tight.

Let’s go to the magical palace in our backyard.

Sit with me under the star-blanketed sky.

Sip with me a Spanish Vinho Verde and let the night become something entirely more.

I’ll lay on your shoulder and we’ll see shooting stars dance like acrobats across the galaxy.

You’ll kiss my cheek and we’ll see Venus smile, twinkling glamorously in all her glory.

Look into my eyes, and please don’t look away.

It’s just you and me.

Stargazing and wine.

I don’t want this moment to end, but it will.

Even the most perfect evenings come to their own conclusions.

The perfection slips through our hands, but we still have each other.

That’s all I really want.

Soon, it gets too cold and we get too restless.

We go back inside to the yellow-tinged light and welcoming warmth.

But, our hearts are filled with stardust and wine.

Our feet are still naked.

And so are our souls.

Just, promise me one thing, darling:

Remember that when the starry-eyed romance ends, the real romance begins.

Let’s curl up on the couch and just be together.

Sweatpants and pajamas.

Just you and me.

Tomorrow beckons for more.

More stargazing and wine.

More you and me.

As long as it’s you and me.
