Fantastical Thinking: the Key to Working with the Law of Attraction.

Jenny Suddaby

The barrage of emails I receive daily telling me that I need to buy a product to help me work with the Law of Attraction to manifest wealth and abundance finally tipped me over the edge one day.

So I decided to write this article.

By “fantastical thinking,” I mean fantasy grounded in reality with integrity: a fusion of fantasy and thinking which allows us to create and ground the best possibilities for ourselves and others. It is the experiential quality of fantasy that distinguishes it from ordinary thought and makes it so useful for driving change.

We know by now the significance of the relationship between mind, body and all that is. Because of the way fantasy has such a powerful impact on our thoughts, emotions and sensations, we can use it to change the energy available to us in the “here and now” rather than just projecting our aspirations out into the future as something to move towards.

The Law of Attraction is based on the premise that everything is energy vibrating at different frequencies and energy will resonate with energy that is like it. It is in operation at all times so we may as well learn to use it to our advantage.

My point is, reality is fantastic and everything we need to create a more fantastic reality is already here with us now in this moment. We don’t need any equipment to be able to do Fantastical Thinking. We are already the most complex instrument we know of to conduct, measure and transform energy.

Below, I use Stephen Covey’s brilliant “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” to structure a simple, free self-help guide to working with the Law of Attraction.

Habit 1 “Be Proactive”: We change the energy that resonates with our own by changing our own energy. When we understand how we work and the potential of what we can do, we can change our energy by raising the frequency of energy running through every cell of the body. This automatically has an impact on the energy that resonates with our own in the world around us.

Habit 2 “Begin with the end in mind’: One of the most challenging aspects of self-development work is stretching the mind beyond limiting beliefs and thinking of the most wonderful, most amazing, most fantastic possibility. We have to allow ourselves to have as real an experience as possible of what we are seeking, like an experiential affirmation. When we use fantasy positively and responsibly to liberate the imagination, it can help us change how we feel, which changes what we can do, which changes our life experience.

Habit 3 “Put first things first”: Self-development emerges out of self-awareness. Before focusing on what we want, which can sometimes generate a sense of lack, focusing on what we already have with an attitude of gratitude automatically generates a sense of abundance. Any goal setting we then do is from an energetic platform of already having rather than not having. We do not have to always be striving towards something. We are already here. We already have it!

Habit 4 “Think Win/Win”: To ground our great ideas, they need to be workable in the real world. We exist in relationships, families and communities. When we change, we have an impact on everything and everyone around us. We win when others win and vice versa. Operating with integrity helps us to make our fantastic ideas real in a way that fits in with our core values. It is the logical discernment that is possible with balanced, rational thought that helps us manifest that change with integrity.

Habit 5 “Seek first to understand then to be understood”: Mindfulness of the self and our relationship with the world around us helps us discover more about the nature of our own being. There is a continuous feedback loop between self-awareness and self-expression. Before we can express our truth, we have to know what it is.

Habit 6 “Synergise”: Meditation, or even just mindful reflection, helps us see the big picture and understand the relationship between everything. This helps us empathise with the experience of others, understand their gifts, and understand when our contribution can be of benefit.

Habit 7 “Sharpen the saw”: It’s not what you know or who you know, but who you are that is the real secret to working with the Law of Attraction. We are what we eat, we are what we think, we are what we feel, we are what we seek. If you seek out joy, if you find the joy in every day, you have already raised the vibrational frequency of every cell of your body.

The highest vibrational frequency of energy is light. We can transform light through the human heart to love without Judgement. Resonating at the frequency of love is living in abundance.

You are light. You are love. What is the most fantastic thing you can think of to contribute to the solution for the highest good of us of all?
