Do we truly know where Hillary Clinton’s political allegiances lie?

I’ve always admired Ms. Clinton for her women’s rights voice, and her tenacity within the political arena. Indeed, I have looked up to her.

I want to jump up and down and cheer for her reach toward political greatness, but cannot.

Today, I received an invitation from SumOfUs to sign a petition asking Ms. Clinton to fire Monsanto lobbyist Jack Crawford from her Iowa state campaign in her run for presidency.

I am not American and so cannot vote in U.S. elections, so why do I care?

I have a soft spot for farmers and this little rock we call Earth. I have been a farmer on a small scale, have participated in local initiatives to set up farmer’s markets, and championed local food movements in my area.

I know what it means to get your hands dirty, eat the produce of my own hard work, and have studied what harm genetically modified organisms (GMOs) bring to the food chain.

I am not an idealist, my eyes are not shut to the suicides of thousands of East Indian farmers who fight a bitter war with Monsanto regarding seed saving, and my heart is not swayed by glossy “GMOs fight world hunger” campaigns.

I call bullsh*t on Monsanto’s grip of agriculture.

I am angry. I am f*cking disappointed that the planet has to fight not only global warming but the antics of money hungry corporations who are no more than wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Debates about the GMO issue has left me with a nightmare of a future where there will be mass starvation from a failed Monsanto crop. But that is for another article—this is about Hillary.

I am horrified by Hillary Clinton’s alliance with someone who I consider a threat to sustainable farming and advancements in eliminating world hunger.

Who is the man Ms. Clinton is hiring? Jerry Crawford is a lobbyist for big agriculture in Iowa, and Monsanto is one of his largest clients. He’s also a consultant for politicians.

I would love to see a female president, but not at this cost. Would you?

Hillary Clinton is in favor of GMO technology and is a friend of biotech industry, I am sad to discover.

Ms. Clinton will be wooing Iowa farmers who no doubt could use a helping hand from government; farming is work for eternal optimists and is a very difficult business to stay in. I don’t blame farmers at all for falling into Monsanto’s trap.
Farmers live and die with the weather and crop success or failure. It’s a hard road to hoe.

But shame on politicians for using that struggle to gain corporate support, and then pulling the wool over farmer’s eyes.

The Washington Times reported that “Ms. Hillary is being dubbed the ‘Bride of Frankenfood.’”

“A quick look at Clinton Family Foundation donors reveals both the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Monsanto as two of the heavy-hitters. Bill Gates is an avid supporter of vaccines on the world, while Monsanto pushes GMOs. It’s a toxic one-two punch for global depopulation.” ~ globalresearch.org

Hillary Clinton’s other donors include: Pfizer, ExxonMobil, Dow Chemical, Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola and more—chemicals, drugs, big oil.

I suppose this is what it takes to win a political campaign, but will it win over the U.S. public?

Hillary Clinton’s law firm used to have Monsanto as a client. Hands washing hands? One has to have the courage to ask all the questions.

There is truly a lot to ponder here if you are a citizen of the USA. And I’m not even going to elaborate on the Clinton Foundation and uranium supplies to the Russians. How do the pro-Clinton, anti-nuclear progressives feel about that, I ask?

Will these predictions come true if Ms. Clinton becomes president?

• A nationwide federal ban on GMO labeling.
• USDA approval of all experimental GMO crops.
• Politically motivated attacks against all anti-GMO activists, scientists and journalists.
• Huge increases in taxpayer-funded subsidies for farmers who grow GMO crops.
• A corporate push to overturn bans on glyphosate and GMOs by other nations.

My hope is that the American people will read this and investigate this issue for themselves, then draw their own conclusions. Pro or con GMOs is not a subtle debate by any means, and perhaps a woman in the presidential office is too big a lure to not fall for.

As always, I stand on the side of knowing as much as possible before I cast a vote. And I encourage the American public to do the same.
