A Rare Christmas Full Moon Sheds Light on 2016.

*Eleditor’s note: Astrology isn’t a religion. We’re not sure it’s a science, either. It’s magic, maybe. But, as with feng shui, say, things affect things. So as long as we don’t go blaming our problems on the stars, as long as we assume responsibility for our own actions…well, hell, a little auspicious coincidence and applicable wisdom can’t hurt. And so, with that grain of salt…enjoy!

This Christmas Day, the moon will be full in the constellation of Gemini, just above the star Geminorum, also known as Alhena.

This is a powerfully rare occurrence that has not been seen since December 25, 1977 and which will not return until the year 2034.

This graphic represents the view due east at 7pm GMT on Christmas Day 2015 as seen from the center of the British Isles, about an hour after full darkness has descended.

Welcome to December’s Full Cold Moon, a powerhouse of potential and possibilities!

“As we look at the Moon on such an occasion, it’s worth remembering that the Moon is more than just a celestial neighbor. The geologic history of the Moon and Earth are intimately tied together such that the Earth would be a dramatically different planet without the Moon.” ~ John Keller, of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.

And just as our beautiful planet is symbiotically connected to its only natural satellite, the moon, we, the children of Gaia, are also intimate with the phases of Luna.

Just as Luna governs the tides, which affect the weather, she also affects our emotions—as we are approximately 78 percent water—and so, as our Earth Mother shifts we shift, a swaying continuum that holds us close to the bosom of Nature.

We are indeed children of the Goddess, coming into our fullness this December 25th, for one last time this year.

The Moon and Numerology

The Moon, an expression of the feminine, is associated with the number 2. The number two is, like the fertilized egg splitting, the symbol of life at its most powerful potential. Any year or month adding up to the number 2 comes under the influence of the moon, such as the month on November (11 – 1+1 = 2)

“To determine if you are a moon child, add up the numbers of your full birth date: for example – 2/4/1967 = 29, 2+9 = 11, 1+1 = 2.” ~ Moon Wisdom, Sally Morningstar.

In magic, however, the moon is assigned the number 9. This year when we add up the numbers 12.25.2015, we also end in the number 9; (18 – 1+8 = 9)

Nine is the culmination of all the numbers before it, representing the Enneagram in sacred geometry, a threshold between the material world and that of spirit. Nine is mystery itself, and this Moon is Full with the promise of all that has been brewing during 2015.

Reached Potential is on the verge for many of us in 2016, because, it, in fact, also adds up to the magical number 9.

Prediction For 2016: Your 5 Life Challenges

As the Moon grows full, so does our responsibility to listen to our inner wisdom.

There are many things that we wish for, hope for and have dreamed about.

But dreams remain un-birthed until we take the steps necessary to fulfill them. We are the authors of our own destinies.

Let us step forth into what we are meant to do. Let us finally drop all resistance to the path we know we must embark on. Let us find our courage and say this is it!

In order to make the most of the powerful energy dispensed by the last Full Moon of 2015, there are five life challenges that we must embrace.

Clear Vision

Have you been struggling with a clear vision of what your purpose is? Has this purpose been eclipsed by feelings of undervaluing your potential?

Before this year ends, you are challenged by the Full Moon to determine that, yes indeed, you are the incarnation of exceeding potential and that you will allow your gifts to surface.

We tend to think about life purpose on a grand scale. Changing the world, saving the whales, finding a cure for disease, but really, we can become paralyzed by such thoughts and completely miss what we are here to do.

Sometimes it is in the small details that we find our greatest purpose. Kindness, love, service to mankind is not measured by volume but by a clear heart—giving what we can from the best part of ourselves unconditionally.

Somewhere, deep down you have felt the stirrings of a dream that only you can birth. It could be anything at all, big or small, but trust me when I say that you are the only person on this planet, in this time, who can manifest the specific purpose you were born to. It may not appear important to anyone else than you, but that is fine, this is between you and the Universe.

Determine what this is, write it down, and mark it on your heart. The vision must be clear to manifest. Embody the emotions you will feel when the dream is at hand, feel these things on a cellular level. The time is now, my friend.

Follow your heart

When we get lost in the hustle and bustle of life, it is easy to ignore the prodding of one’s heart.

In fact, we sometimes quiet our hearts by becoming very busy. We can say that we do not have the luxury to follow our heart’s desire.

I must disagree, because the heart when quiet is at its most dangerous, it suffers a lonely death, abandoning us to our whims and excuses, then painfully reminding us now and again how sad we are to have given up on ourselves.

This Full Moon, follow your heart. Agree to listen to what it has been beating for all these years. Your longings for the unconventional, the irrational, the bohemian, the impractical – is not something to be ignored; it is a heart call to express your potential.

But it doesn’t make any sense…you say, this thing that my heart wants.

Neither does incarnating into the physical world and leaving without accomplishing what you came to do. Peace doesn’t make sense to humanity, clearly, but we must have it. Love in all its variety doesn’t make sense from the perspective of hetero-sexuality, but we must have it. Feeding the hungry makes no sense for the perspective of our burgeoning world population, but we must do it.

If it makes sense to your heart, it has a place in the world. If you were born, then so was your dream.

You are your dream incarnate. Now live it!

Authenticity

It’s not easy being you. It’s not easy being real. But is there any other way?

Authenticity is often talked about but more often avoided.

Take a moment to look in the mirror and truly see yourself. You are beautiful. You are unique. You are exquisitely unlike what you were told you should be.

Being authentic takes more courage than anything else I know. It means braving criticism and sometimes even hatred.

But this world will lose so much of what it needs if you don’t walk your truest walk. It’s not true that everything will go awry when you show your true colors. That is a lie that society tells us because when we are all lined up like so many ducks in a row, we are easy to understand and herd.

But not everything needs to be understood. Be the one who steps out of line and says what they truly mean, does what they truly believe; the one who shakes up the status quo and shifts humanity for the better good.

You can do this quietly even, but do it. Show us your brilliant light. We so desperately need free thinkers and music makers, poets and story tellers, wanderers and peace chasers.

Only you. Only you.

Release the Past

No matter what they did do you, no matter how it hurt, let it go.

I assure you that there will be no real forward movement until this happens. Forgive for the freedom it will afford you.

Shout F*ck you! Then move on.

Easy? No. Necessary? Yes. Yes. Yes.

Scars are okay. Scars keep us humble and compassionate. Keep those. Raw, bleeding wounds are of no use and you are the only one who can doctor your pain.

Start with a simple decision. Give the past the finger. It’s truly an illusion now.

Today is just fine once you stop dragging that useless wagon full of hurts. I can only say this because I have pushed that wagon into the river and watched it float away.

Let go. You can do this.

Creativity

We are born creators. We must create or we die. And too often, we die long before we are buried. It’s always because we have shut down to the miracle of creativity.

This Full Moon, awaken to your potential. What are you here to create? Oh, its not only writers and painters and dancers who are creative.

Every moment that goes by, you have created. With past actions, thoughts, beliefs, present actions, fear or through love.

The spark of life is creativity. It’s what keeps up motivated and challenged to go on. It is our direct connection to the Divine.

A woman once said to me “I have no talents, none at all.” I asked her what she did that made her happy.

She said, “I go for walks and I play bingo.”

She did not see that from that seemingly meaningless (to her) place, she was at her most creative.

While walking, she came up with her family’s meals for the week, and obtained her joy of life. She was creating something mindful. She was creating happiness and peace on a micro level which is the only place we can start to create world peace. Imagine if everyone took this powerful step?

While playing bingo, she was at her most introspective, joyful, engaging with others in this positive state. She left bingo feeling uplifted. She had just created and contributed to the consciousness by arriving home in a state of being that transcended to how she treated her children, her partner.

As anyone who is familiar with the pebble thrown across the water metaphor, this is not small thing. Imagine if she never fed her creative urge and neither did the rest of us? What bedlam we would have…what bedlam we do have because we have abandoned our creativity.

While the Full Moon basks in its position relative to the constellation of Gemini, take advantage of Gemini’s ability to explore all sides of itself.

You don’t have to be anything to anyone, you just have to be yourself.

This Full Moon, seize the day. There will never be another day like it, so find your magic.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” ~ Leo Buscaglia
