She Blossomed in this Breath.

girl, watercolor, flowers, buds

Warning: a bit of naughty language below!

She blossomed in this breath, in this long-awaited moment, her spirit jolted to life—

When she stopped listening to what everyone else wanted her to be, when she threw down firm boundaries, when she stopped being responsible for fixing other people’s pain—

She blossomed.

She blossomed in silence, in a meadow speckled with wildflowers so bright, the buds looked like eager swipes of a paintbrush.

She blossomed.

She blossomed by saying f*ck no to being a doormat.

She blossomed by saying f*ck yes to her own juicy heart.

She blossomed by dancing deep inside her skin and claiming the kaleidoscope light of her truths.

She blossomed by shedding the suffocating shadows of shame.

She blossomed by smiling at her own reflection in the mirror.

She blossomed in this breath, her spirit jolted to life—

When she allowed herself to feel all the pain she always buried inside, when she cried, when she let go—

When she f*cking let go—

And let the wind comb through every sobbing strand of her thirsty hair

And let the warm sun stream valiantly through the empty spaces in her heart

And let her lips sing the ancient songs of her soul she had forgotten long ago.

She finally remembered who she was.

She blossomed in this breath, in this long-awaited moment, her spirit jolted to life—

When she finally the balls to look life boldly the eyes and say—

I matter.
