I Dare you to Love my Rough Edges. {Poem}

I dare you to love me.

I dare you to run your hands over my prickly legs, my full hips, my dimpled skin.

I dare you to smell my bodily odors, taste my salty skin, feel my rough edges.

I dare you to embrace me; when I tremble, when I shake, when I cry out.

I dare you to hear me. Listen to my fears, my doubts my insecurities.

I dare you watch me when I try, when I fail, when I get up again.

I dare you to have patience when I make the same mistake—over, and over and over.

I dare you to remind me I am beautiful, I am worthy, I am loved.

I dare you to look in the mirror, and remember, this reflection is your best friend.

I dare you to love me.
