Words for Those Who Never Fit In. {Poem}

Stand Out.

Maybe sometimes you feel
like you don’t fit in,
like you don’t belong.

But darlin’,
you’re not made to blend in
or fade into the background,
you’re made to stand out.

You’re so much more than
a tall glass of cold water on a hot day.
Don’t get me wrong,
you’re refreshing,
but you’re also a fishbowl
full of sex on the beach
and a heavenly slice of cake
with two scoops of decadent ice cream.

You’re no sheep my love,
you’re an alpha,
a pack leader,
a majestic wolf howling at the moon.

You’re made of exploding stars,
and let me tell you,
every single time you explode
and let yourself crumble
into millions of pieces
you create new life,
just like the stars that birthed you into being.

You’re fragments of cosmic matter,
you’re a being of infinite
proportion and potential
and no less.

Spread your wings.

Keep your chin up,
otherwise your crown will fall,
and you might miss seeing
the beauty
of your own reflection.

About Amanda Dobby

Amanda Dobby is an artist, writer, poet, free range mommy, and wild woman—she’s a rebelle spirit at heart and she takes the process of inner alchemical transformation very seriously. She loves adventuring and dancing with her two beautiful wild children, tenderly exploring and contemplating mother nature in all of her seasons and glory, baking up storms and creating tasty works of art in the kitchen, getting lost in esoteric and philosophical books, and passionately scribbling words onto pages somewhere in between all the magical madness that is life.
