“My love it’s just a reminder. Find your center.”

Summer is slowly winding down.

The seasons are changing, and so are we.

Sometimes, I get so overwhelmed with how fast things transition, but there is no avoiding it. It is nature—the cosmic dance of mother earth both internally and externally.

It is so important to not resist change. It provides us with an opportunity to reflect, to go inward, and to process.

It is an opportunity to remember, to call back all the things that bring us to our center.

What is our common center? It is the heart. Everything always comes back to the heart and love is the key to opening that door.

We must do what we love.

And if it is not possible for us to do what we love, we must remember what we love. We must remember the things that bring us home, back into our Innermost Self.

That is what my song, “A Reminder,” is for me.

It was written about my very first day in India on my first trip there in 2007. It was an experience of me feeling more at home than I have ever felt in my whole life. In the song, I call to mind all the details of that first day: waking up at sunrise and watching the light spill across the city, seeing the holy river Ganges for the first time, driving up into the mountains as cows roaming the streets.

Recalling all these things not only helps me remember that trip but also helps me remember that feeling of home and that this feeling is always present all the time. It’s just that, sometimes, I get distracted and I forget.

My good friend, East Forest, recently remixed our song, “A Reminder,” and I can’t be more pleased with how it turned out. He did it in such a way that it made me fall in love with the song that much more. I hope you all enjoy it and truly hope the song helps you tap into your own center and helps remind you of all the things that you love.

Another thing that helps me find my center is service.

It is a great blessing to have the opportunity to serve in whatever capacity we can. It has always been a dream of mine to feed people at my concerts. In India, this tradition of feeding people is strong and considered extremely sacred.

A great saint was once asked, “How do we become enlightened?” Instead of giving some esoteric teaching on meditation or a magic mantra formula he said, “Feed people.” Some people felt that he misunderstood the question, so they asked him again, and he said, “Serve people.”

Listen to the song right here:

This November 23rd and 24th, we are excited to announce “Trevor Hall and Friends” at The Boulder Theater, a night for community where we will be playing music and feeding people. No one will be turned away—this is a night of sharing space and food with one another, to serve, share, and come closer together. I will be joined by some very special musical guests. Conscious Alliance will also be accepting donations for the homeless community of canned food, blankets, warm clothing…anything you’d like to give.

We can’t wait to share this special night with you all.
