7 Snippets of Shared Wisdom that Inspire the Heck out of Me.

I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for quotes lists.

While I don’t typically go searching, I can pull up a few of my favorites here on Elephant within a couple of seconds when I need a pick-me-up.

Here are the pick-me-ups that I’ve especially needed, of late. I share in hopes that they remind all of us:

To be grateful:

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”  ~ Albert Einstein

To take chances:

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” ~ George Eliot

To express ourselves:

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ~ Maya Angelou

That small actions make a difference:

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt

That each of us is one of a kind, and that’s amazing:

“Today you are you. That is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.” ~ Dr. Seuss

That chasing what lights us up is so, so worth it:

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.” ~ Paulo Coelho

To bring our best to the table*:
*Author’s note: This one sometimes sends me into an existential crisis. 😉

“Whatever you are, be a good one.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

Okay okay, one bonus item:

And to find a manifesto that works for each of us, as individuals.
(You could write one, or find words that inspire the crap out of you. This one totally shakes me out of sleeping):

“I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,

to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible;
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,

a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance,
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom,
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.” ~ Dawna Markova
