I Am Nothing.

I am ugly.
I am old.
I am not athletic.
I am always late.
I am shy.
I never know what to say.
It is always my fault.
I can’t do anything right.
Nothing goes my way.
I can’t afford it.
I suck at this.
I am useless.

How many of these have you thought to yourself today? If not these stories, which are yours?

See, through stories we find our identity. Through stories we can justify who we are, why we behave as we do, why our life is like it is.

We cling to our stories like a safety net. Even those one’s we would never admit to identifying with. #helloscarcity.

It is funny, because we start life not knowing any of our stories. Through social conditioning, ancestral patterns and family beliefs, our repertoire of stories grow.

And as we age, we retell our stories like a grand storyteller.

“I am like this because this happened to me.”

“I am no good at ________ because of ________ (fill in the blanks).”

“We just can’t afford to do that.”

We reinforce the stories, continuing to identify with them, continuing to give them life, to give them meaning.

Our stories feel comfortable (after all, we’ve told them so many times). But what they actually are, are prisons. They hold us stuck, lost, unsure. Even when we are offered the key to unlock the prison door, very rarely do we take it.

Who would I be without my stories? What would happen to this life I have created, my comfortable life based on my stories?

But how comfortable is it really?

Even though I call them stories, what they truly are, are fears. And they run so deep. Consciously you may tell yourself you are always late. But what is happening in your subconscious is fears of unworthiness, judgment, and more.

The truth is you do not have to live with these stories, these fears, any longer. You have the choice, you always have, to change your stories. To meet your fear. To walk out of the prison. It starts with you, and it starts with a choice.

Who am I without my stories? When you are ready to ask that question and find out…that’s where the magic happens.

Are you ready to make magic today?
