In Search of Bliss

In many ways, life is certain to go in search of bliss. Either it is contacted while alive, or met with at the time of dropping the physical body. Bliss comes pre-installed, just as the flower is in the seed.

The bliss-like feeling or moment that is being referred to is akin to imagination of a particular situation. Imagination is capable of creating an effect, even if not the actual cause. The more powerful or penetrating the imagination, the more profound and lasting its effects as a mind. But nothing of reality does imagination cause, just as nothing of the existential the psychological is. The mind will itself prove its make-belief nature if one is sincere about knowing it. The same way, this bliss-like feeling, sensation, or experience is nothing of the truth, but very much the effect to an imagination of truth, emanating from the absence of an otherwise conscious layer of mind. The unconscious yet already present, or simply subtler aspects of what can be termed as mind, is now in the forefront. It being something not acquainted to the usual and familiar, mainly due to its non-registering in conscious memory, is why and also how the resultant experience of bliss comes into play.

Now, keep in mind that it is only coming into play, not truly existing. Whatever comes into play, be it fear, stress, bliss, or a thought, is merely a resultant activity of the existential. For example, taste is existential. If a child is given a Cadbury Dairy Milk for the first time, the chemical action will trigger a variety of reactions. The child may associate a sense of pleasure with the heightened glucose and other secretions within the human mechanism. The next time that chemical is introduced, the memory is already there and the triggers may be more determinable. But, after a 1000 rounds of the chemical, the ability to be conscious of how this action and reaction is playing out is also more enhanced. To be conscious is also just this – to become perceptive of the play of memory at almost every level of life.

The bliss that we started to talk about is very much a reaction to a certain kind or quality of action. Hence, it can correspond as a quality called bliss. Because of its quality, and being subtle enough to not become a conscious memory which can be imagined and induced, a thousand years’ of bliss or a moment’s should make no difference. It is also how addictions and overdoses happen to be – a compulsive bliss-like reaction for another compulsive action, which rides over conscious memory each time due to its chemical foundations.

However, even if a thief has been stealing from your house night after night without leaving a trace, the void from the missing objects is indicative of a thief being there at some point. Even though bliss is an unrecorded experience, remaining largely so because it doesn’t register in the form of conscious memory as fear or joy would, like the first candy to a child every time, its absence and presence is known, and that knowing can now perceive the play of bliss. Now, there is nothing to delight about the light, but one is to simply be knowing where the switches are. It is like the thief doing their job at night with the CCTV shut down, but the exact point and the number of times the gate was opened and the extent of variations in the house is understandable upon observation. In knowledge of that, the thief can be played into a ploy. Bliss is then a ploy to play with, till the point the child grows up and is done with the object of candies, subjectivity of tastes, and the magic of alchemy.

Then, bliss comes in search of it – would be a blissful way to end this one
