Some of us experience joy in ourselves when we see and feel it in another.

Others of us condemn those for their exuberance, and should read this.

 

If you want to feel delighted, relieved of the burden of self-consciousness, if you want to see what it looks like to have finally made friends with yourself, see this.

 

Her obvious sheer enjoyment is infectious!

Can we talk about her teammates dancing along with her? “I love how the other gymnasts from her school follow along the routine with her. You can tell they helped her practice with it a lot.”

She dropped down from “the elite level” to college level because it was more fun and brought back joy in her life. She also struggled with body image:

“As gymnasts, our bodies are constantly being seen in these minimal clothing leotards. I felt so uncomfortable looking in the mirror. I felt uncomfortable walking back into the gym, like there were eyes just targeted at me. I hated taking pictures. I hated everything about myself.”
