This weekend’s full moon has four planets in Taurus and the lovely moon in Scorpio.

This Taurus and Scorpio sky is just like it was on Buddha’s birthday.

When this occurs, it is called Vesak (a day to remember the birth, enlightenment, and death of the Buddha), which always falls on May’s full moon.

Buddha was born on this special day, making May 19 almost like what Christmas Day is for Christians. For Buddhists around the world, this is their most sacred day, and it began two and a half millennia ago, in the year 623 B.C.

Funnily enough, we celebrate Christ during an Earth solar cycle too—during Capricorn. And we celebrate Buddha under Taurus—also an Earth sign.

Christ said, “Love everyone and keep your heart open at all costs,” while Buddha taught us how to turn off our minds and find peace; he taught non-attachment.

Both are grounded wisdom. Both are celebrated during Earth signs.

After all the theories we study, all the yoga we do, all the books we read—May is when we need to try to apply our wisdom, to plant our seeds, and to put our money where our mouth is.

Do you know the story of Siddhartha (Buddha)?

He was painfully distressed upon realizing the real world was full of injustice and violence. He spent long periods of time in meditation seeking answers and peace.

Buddha is our example of a hardworking Taurus; he worked not for money and status but for peace and love. He found meditation to be the most solid practice to get there.

The four planets in Taurus right now are offering us easier access to stillness, calmness, and joy—smell the flowers, slow down, and honor the moment. But, like Buddha, we need to have a practice.

I was with my sons on Mother’s Day, and they asked me a question: How do we avoid depression and negative thinking?

You nurture your faith. You cultivate it with Taurean energy. You have a practice and stay consistent, even when you don’t want to do it.

Think about Buddha during this full moon and use the sky’s energy to plant the seeds for your enlightenment.

What do you do consistently that is serving your peace?

What is your practice? Yoga? Gardening? Singing? Cooking? Meditation comes in many forms.

Now is the time to seek a sincere longing for peace, quiet, and spiritual joy through practice. Even if you think it is impossible to release the bondage of your mind and its pain, like Buddha—don’t give up.

There is a lot of solid, grounded energy in the heavens right now. Use it to seek what you need and want.

The sky is the limit.

During these four planets in Taurus, go for your dreams! Your depth is waiting for you.

Choose a practice and follow it. I promise you, consistency gets results.
