Lose Your Self To Be Who You Are

It may be intuitive to understand that one needs to find themselves to be who they are. Finding the self is a tricky terrain and trajectory to be on. It is almost counter-intuitive to have to lose something that is intrinsic to be able to be that which is primordial and existential. How is one to be the existential? This is not a question for someone to answer, but we can use questioning as a method to arrive at a reasonable understanding of an otherwise flippant or outrageous statement.

In more ways than one, life as we know it is making a constant urge to be. Its fundamental existence is so overpowering in experience and perception that it shall not settle before determining the nature of its existence in some substantial way. This almost compulsive attempt to consciously being who they are finds expression through a variety of proxies resulting in the world as we know it. The trouble is just this that once consciousness becomes conscious of itself, that will be the end of all troubles, which will bring a new circle of troubles. These troubles are of the mind. Mind is not really a concern but more a consequence of our familiarity with ignorance from the absence of having known the truth. Truth is not something that occurs or needs invention. If the mind stops making itself occur out of its compulsive ways, the same energy which fuels all life can be channeled through the instrument of a mind in full awareness of how it is and to what effect. In our lack of attention to ourselves, both by choice and inability, enamoring our limitations as personality traits and characteristics, a sense of self is established which may bring integrity, stability, purpose, meaning, reason, patterns of behavior and habit to some extent. But the truth of disease, death, and decay, threatens the false. It must – or else what would be true about truth?

If you believe to have found your self, and were to drop your body this moment, you would be a dangling ghost. Up until a moment ago you may have found your self, but now you are lost and steeped in ignorance of your own nature. Nature may assist in finding another body, or you may create your way to the beyond, depending on the quality with which you have held your sense of self. Holding a sense of self is all it involves. To sense the reality of who you are it is a must to lose the falsity of a self, which has caused this being to keep reoccurring and never really be for what it is. In other words, the truth of the self is to be known which entails seeing it beyond oneself. Everything and nothing makes sense at the same time – is how the mind can make semantics out of experience, or nonsense with pure perception. Receptivity to the nature of the self and the possibility to its truth is possible once it is allowed to be as existence is – beyond qualities, identifications, and the duality of logic. Then there is nothing that remains for it to remain, once the body has dropped.

The self that you are must become sufficiently conscious of itself, to lose all sense of self, in order to be who you essentially are. It may be a life long striving which is self-induced, self-fulfilling, absolutely selfish and selfless, all at once.
