Feminine Sun (Poem about my perspective of the Sun)

I first saw the Sunrise in Mexico, molassesing from the ocean as if to flirt with me

Sipping on cafe con leche, I patiently waited as she spread her rays over the tiny waves forming from her motion

Shining over the Red roofs of rooms whispering secrets I will never hear about

I saw sunrise again in  waterville

Peeking her rays past the mountains and then the clouds like an explosive volcano

Her longest ray tapping me on the shoulder requesting my company

And I go…

I go again and again because not seeing you in all your phases would take something away from me

The pit of my stomach making somersaults and I can’t decide if I like it or not

Or do I untie the knot that’s beginning to form?

Your journey is slow but purposeful and you take it every day

Your lights playing games in the sky

As if to want to satisfy

Pulling me back to my little girl self, who smiles from ear to ear in response to your

greeting

Now the crows are telling everyone that you’ve arrived

And I try to hold on to you just a little bit longer

defying the idea that I shouldn’t look at you with my bare eyes

How can I not?

When your beauty was born to reside in my weakest spot

You finally reach your highest point and have stubbornly decided to share yourself with the rest of the world

Playing peek-a-boo amongst the clouds

Swearing sweet vows

Gracefully giving her last bow

I saw Sunrise set in Montauk

Leisurely sinking behind two hills

Shyly wishing she could chill

Scattering her last bit of thrills

I’m here

Waiting for her magic to disperse

Secretly Anticipating for her light to return from

The Universe…the Universe…the Universe
