Break Down to Break Free , how I found my Spiritual Leadership!

We are all leaders, and yet we struggle sometimes to lead ourselves to inner fulfilment. We embark on the journey and yet we stumble, fall, slowly give up, or take years to re-route ourselves back to the calling of spiritual leadership.

And if you are anything like me, this is what happened.

I had the spiritual calling and ‘yearning for more’, as I tried to balance my family life, children, work and study. I worked as a counsellor, primarily with children and families. The pace of my role was enormous, each day seemed to bring a compounding level of heaviness and more complex trauma cases. I felt myself imploding, and yet the exterior appeared to be calm, I kept my veneer smiling on the outside and weeping in the dark shell of my being. I could feel the undercurrents of my soul being washed away day by day.

I knew I was on the brink of a breakdown and it was at this point, I knew I needed more as my heart was yearning, my body shaking, and my soul shouting!

At what point, do you surrender and say ‘Stop I want more, I need more’ to fill my life with joyful sovereignty, embracing the fullness of my radiant being.

My calling come in the middle of the night as I lay in my bed for hours, unable to sleep due to the mental fog of judgement, my heart pounding and then I heard   it “You are worth it, my love!”. My calling had been answered, I knew I had to change and lead myself, from the victimhood of feeling chained to a situation.

A spiritual calling may start with a whisper, like a drop of water slowly dripping in the background of your life, however if the calling is unattended it becomes a raging, roaring tsunami shouting ‘Listen to me!’.

We are all born to shine and gloriously lead! Not just a selected few, from a privileged upbringing or situation. But every single one of us!

It takes an unadulterated ‘responsibility’ to yourself. What does that mean? It means a big fat yes, to you! That you are so fiercely determined in your love for yourself that even on the ‘bad ugly’ days your faith doesn’t waiver.  It means that you put yourself on the top of your to-do-list and not the bottom. You are the priority in your life!

What cultivates your personal spiritual leadership?

‘Fierce courage!’, which is harnessed to support you through the dark days and nights. Fear is a reaction and courage is adecisionand a choice! We are talking about spiritual leadership, meeting yourself as a divine radiant being. It takes forgivenessof yourself with all of the failed expectations and judgements.

It takes radical self -acceptancein all of its subtleties; even if we don’t like it. We accept our fears, we accept our behaviours, we accept our actions and we take responsibility; so that we can transform them. We consciously unknot the cords of control, our dominant negative self-belief stories and become fear hunters; as we reclaim our joyful radiance. Then we see through the veil of our own narratives.

As we return to our path of love, we surrenderto the birthright of our divinity, knowing that fears can no longer ‘cage us’ into smallness. Spiritual leadership liberates us to lead with love.  We start to create, nurture and honour our inner life, inner wisdom, as we listen and sustain self-love. We start to ‘be’ the change, as we nourish our ourselves from being barren to beautiful. This inner life practice influences spiritual leadership.
