The bright hunger that consumes my days|a Poem

I cried out to guidance
asking why the hunger inside
had to burn so big
so bright
consuming all my days.

I got silence as an answer.

Then the silence
turned into a yearning
and the yearning
into seeking
and the seeking
into a deep listening
that brought the recognition
of a sagely voice
on mystic winds.

“You are willing to grow your eyes
to recognize the subtleties as signals,
you then trust the signals as truths,
and tune your ears to hear us through
the boisterous clamor..
you use your mouth to speak divinity
back into the souls
that have seemingly forgotten”

It answered.
God.
It answered.

“You.
For a soul like you;
so desperate to wake the sleeping,
and living with an exhausting urgency
as instinctive
as your breathing

we knew it wouldn’t sit idle
be contained
lest forgotten.

Lawless woman,
you came here to storm the dusty places,
to catch dim souls a blaze,
to shoulder in a defiant insurgent wildfire
only some realize
they need the warmth
and light of.

Light it up.

The beauty of the flames;
they all connect eventually
finding one other
searching their individual paths
for fellow sparks to conjoin with
in this esoteric sojourn.”

-What a great cosmic burn we will be
