Glazed Peaches with Vanilla Ice Cream & Chopped Walnuts. {Recipe}

Watch the ice cream as it glides over the glazed peaches. Does it entice your tastebuds?

This dessert is easy to make and tastes great! If you want to keep it silky and smooth, don’t add the walnuts. But if you want to experience contrasting textures, go for the toasted walnuts. Either way, you’re in for a sweet and refreshing treat.

Glazed Peaches with Ice Cream & Walnuts Recipe

Serves 2

Prep Time – 10 Minutes

Cook Time – 15 Minutes

Ingredients

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 teaspoon brown sugar

Dash of salt (optional)

2 large ripe peaches

¼ cup walnut pieces

2 scoops vanilla ice cream

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/177°C.
  2. Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and salt (if using) in a small bowl.
  3. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits.
  4. Slather the sweet butter on the cut side of the peaches. Place the peaches in an 8-inch x 4-inch oven-safe pan with the buttered side facing up. Place the pan in the preheated oven.
  5. Place the walnut pieces in a 4-inch x 4-inch oven-safe pan and bake in the oven for 10 minutes, making sure the walnuts are toasted and not burned.
  6. Bake the peaches for 15 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve with any ice cream, gelato, or sorbet of your choice, as long as it doesn’t overpower the fruit’s delicate flavor.

Drizzle caramel sauce on top to make the dessert more decadent.

You can also serve this dessert with chopped candied walnuts or almonds.

Tips:

1 teaspoon of brown sugar can be replaced with 2 teaspoons of maple syrup.

It’s important to use ripe peaches.

This recipe also works with nectarines and apricots. If using apricots, don’t use butter and use maple syrup instead of brown sugar.
