To Be Human

A curious question to ask, what does it mean to be human?

According to Wikipedia…

Humans (Homo sapiens) are the most abundant and widespread species of primates, characterized by bipedalityand large complex brains enabling the development of advanced tools, culture and language.

So with our large advanced brains, we invented Jeggings, Tamagotchi’s, and Duckface, I understand now. But, what does it really mean to be human? Does it mean, have fleshy limbs, and sarcasm ? Does it require a special shape, size, or colour? Is it about feeling, or not feeling? Do you feel like a human? If so, then how do you define it, and is it something you become, or are you just human and that’s all? How can we all be the same thing, and yet be very different at the same time? When you find out the answers, please let me know.

Humans have so much going on, each one on its own special journey floating around in space on this blue planet. What I find funny, is the space between the thoughts that is rarely recognized, the constant bouncing of mind chatter, as if a ping pong tournament has reached its peak intensity. But, what happens between the thoughts? Have you thought about that? Is the human its thoughts? Or the space between? Or both? As Wiki says we have complex brains, most, in which, we don’t understand. We were born not knowing, but, I believe, it is our job to know. Do you potentially think, the more we unlock our own minds, more information about the universe (or even the multiverse) could open up to us? Is there a connection between, us humans, and all of creation?

To me, to be human is to experience all life has to offer. Life and its full range of colours, with every shade,  every sensation, every feeling, every up, and every down. It is a constant evolution and learning process. To be human. Do we choose how we evolve, and what we want to learn, or was it chosen for us to serve some greater purpose? How do we grow and adapt, and change and work together, yet independently? How do we find space, but also connection and love? Studies have shown that humans need physical touch to, not only, survive, but to thrive. How can we receive more touch, that is loving and safe?

What does a human require for its life to be fulfilled? To feel complete or whole?

(this is a great opportunity to journal your thoughts)

So this brings me back to the idea of what it means to be a human…is there a goal we have to reach, TO BE human? Maybe the answer is in the question..
