What is Reincarnation?

Is reincarnation real?

Yes.

I believe it is. 100%. But Estelle didn’t.

Just like in our previous lives.

Perhaps I sound crazy. Believe me, if I didn’t know reincarnation so deeply, I would believe I was crazy too. But I’m not.

If anything, I’m the normal one.

That day began like any other day. Estelle and I woke up at 6:00 AM, showered, got dressed, and sat down to our usual breakfast of oatmeal with fruit before heading off to work at 8:00 AM. I logged into my system at 8:58 AM, two minutes ahead of schedule, like always, and settled in to check my emails.

At 12:30 PM, I broke for lunch. I came back to my desk at 1:30 PM and settled into work once again. It was 2:15 PM when I suddenly began feeling woozy, lethargic, and groggy. What was going on? I couldn’t even look at my screen anymore. I needed a break. I needed a nap.

Confused and disoriented at my sudden loss of energy, I made my way to the break room dazedly and crawled onto the couch. Just a quick cat nap.

Perhaps you believe in a higher power. Perhaps you don’t.

I do. And I know it was Divine Grace that sapped my energy that day, forcing me to take a nap. There was no other logical or reasonable explanation for what occurred after.

It was something I was meant to see.

I fell asleep the instant my head hit the couch and I dreamed. I dreamed of a big wide savannah where I was a young boy of seven. Floppy hair neatly oiled and combed, my baggy pants brushing against the ground, I ran through the fields of grass towards home. I was late. I had stayed out too late, playing, and Ma would yell. I was scared.

I spotted our little hut in the distance and ran faster. Just as I entered the gate, the front door swung open, and there stood Ma.

Only it wasn’t Ma. It was Estelle.

It was Ma. But it was also Estelle. Her face, body, hair was all different. She was a different woman. But she was Estelle.

I gasped and came awake. And instantly, I knew. Estelle and I had been connected for lifetimes. We had been each other’s partners, parents, siblings, friends.

We had begun our soul journey together.

What religion believes in reincarnation still in today’s day and age?

Many.

Buddhism reincarnation, in particular, has many sources online. Those were the sources I pounced on that afternoon, after my nap, which had lasted barely 10 minutes. I awoke, fresh, energetic like I had never been tired, in the first place.

Divine Grace.

Estelle shot me down though. She refused to listen to what I had to say, growing angry when I insisted that we had lived with one another for centuries. A woman of science, practical to a fault, Estelle had no patience for “airy-fairy, wishy-washy rebirth nonsense.”

This was 15 years ago.

Today? Estelle is a converted Buddhist. We run a retreat center together where I offer past-life readings, Shraadh Karma – Tarpan.

Time always changes everything. Nothing is permanent.

Except love.

That’s what Estelle has taught me.
