Los Angles is not a city where seasons come to you . It is not a city where you can open your window in the morning and can breathe the season in air . It remains pretty flat in terms of weather and seasonal changes . Living in a concrete jungle such as Los Angeles where you don’t see colors of trees change in fall or watch snow fall on a winter morning, one can quickly lose touch with seasons and forget how arrival and departure of each season feels like, leading to misalignment of soul with nature’s cycle.

So I have learnt to walk to the seasons and find and feel the changes in work with nature . For example this morning ( a day before Autumn Equinox ), I walked to a park near my apartment. It was hot but there was a subtle breeze and a subtle whisper of the autumn ahead of us . I found a tree and it’s shade I was most attracted to. I sat on the green earth, took out my journal and started writing and describing each and every moment I was feeling by being there. And below is my journal entry:

I don’t feel the heat now. I can feel the autumn air entering my lungs. I can see the dried , crisp eucalyptus leaves on the grass. I can feel all the plants slowing down. I can feel the air slowing down. I am reminded of my father’s poem on Autumn. I can see the divine Mother Nature with her eyes closed,  wrapped in leaves of fall and telling us to slow down and look inward further, to deep dive further in our mystic and sacred souls . Mother in autumn attire is at our door. I can see her and feel her this morning . Happy Autumn from Los Angeles .
