Why Tarot Is Such A Great Tool to Use for Daily Guidance
Written by Cherryl Majoros
I have been working with Tarot for many years and I love it! I think each card tells a story. Each different suit of Wands, (Springtime) Cups, (Summer) Swords, (Fall) Pentacles (Winter)represent something different from times to seasons, to astrological signs. And the Major Arcana is pretty telling as well! Anyone can learn to read Tarot. Although there seems to be a lot of mystery surrounding Tarot or maybe some false perceptions, it is becoming more mainstream all the time! It’s a fascinating tool for anyone interested in learning Tarot. When I look at a Tarot spread, I get a glimpse of what is going on in a client’s life. It can tell me if the client is focused on money, career, love or many things. The cards can represent people’s emotions. One of the main question’s clients want to know is about relationships, usually the romantic kind!
Tarot tells a story. There is a total of 78 cards including the Major and Minor arcana. Each card that is used in a spread has a meaning associated with it. The position its at in the spread is of prime importance. There are many different spreads, but I like the 10-card spread which is called the Celtic Spread because I think it gives the most well-rounded picture. I believe the card at the bottom, the top, the immediate future, and how people see the situation and the outcome are the most important and the rest are important as well, but more like window dressing. They are the supporting cast and not the stars.
Tarot can give glimpses into past, present, future. Of course, each reader uses their own intuition to interpret the meaning. Each of the cards have their own meaning. As an example, the Major Arcana means this has more to do with fate in a way, or life lessons. It sets the main point in a reading and is something a reader needs to pay close attention to for the client. There are 21 Major Arcana as well as The Fool numbered 0, so a total of 22. Each Suit is numbered one through ten with each suit having a page, knight, Queen and King. Also, Each Tarot Deck is different from the next, some may have prince or princesses but there seems to be at least a bit of the same meaning from deck to deck. Some are more complex than others.
I use Tarot as a guide along with my intuition and spiritual leanings to focus on how I can best help a client by giving him/her the information that will be most beneficial to the client. This is where a reader’s intuition plays a strong role. You can have a card mean one thing for a client and mean something else for the next client. I kind of let spirit take over and it guides the reading for the best and highest good for the client.
I believe Tarot is a spiritual tool designed to bring us closer to Spirit and to ourselves. There really isn’t anything you can’t ask of the Tarot. It’s been around for centuries and helps the reader give the client a good solid direction or answer to the question the client seeks to know. Tarot is a beautiful tool filled with imagery that tells a story through symbols, pictures, meaning and there is a reason for each symbol on the card, you just need a trusted reader!
