My messy little valentine,
you are only eight
marzapan dusted romeo
earnestly creates
sculpted, scented roses
set upon a tart,
you carefully arranged
violets in a heart.
Artistic, biscuit gift
lavender enshrined
etched in sugar crystals,
not quite a perfect line.
Thanks my grinning cupid chef,
I’ll eat this work of art.
Nibble ’round the edges,
epicurian my heart.
