Choice is a powerful thing. Every choice we make has consequences, whether good or bad. The choices we make have the ability to make us steer off path and feel powerless or they have the ability to create the life we are meant to live. I have created an acronym that I have been using for a couple years now, that is a reminder to myself that it is my CHOICE to create the life I am wanting.
C-Courageous
H-Happiness
O-Original
I-Inspirational
C-Carefree
E-Empower
Choose to be Courageous
Have the courage to be your true self and to take on your dreams. We live in a world that is constantly putting others down in some shape or form. Which if you are like me, leads to the inner self-critic. I questioned for many years what I should do with my life. I put myself down for every dream that I ever had. I told myself it wasn’t realistic or that I would never be successful in it. It took me awhile but I did find the courage to create my own business. So, instead of holding yourself back, decide to be courageous and step into the life you were meant to live.
Choose to be Happy
There are so many different things that can hold us back in this world, the main one being ourselves. For a long time I tried to be everything everyone wanted me to be. I felt it was my responsibility to take care of everyone and I never took the time to take care of myself. Living like that caused me to be unhappy and negative towards everything. It is important to understand that you can’t make everyone happy and keep yourself happy. It is also important to know that you are not responsible for anyone else’s happiness. You can’t change their lives for them but you have the power to change yours. You can choose to make yourself happy and whole.
Choose to be Original
Be yourself. There is no point in trying to be what others tell you to be, whether you are looking at magazines or someone is telling you to change because in the end, you will find yourself unhappy. It is easy to pretend to be something your not but it is courageous to be yourself. By being yourself you could also inspire others to be themselves and to live a courageous life.
Choose Inspiration
Inspire others and inspire yourself. Everyday there is inspiration surrounding us. It can be the people we spend our time with, the ones who go after their dreams and doesn’t let fear hold them back or maybe it’s an animal lover who takes in every stray cat and gives it a home. There is inspiration in nature. The way the wind blows the leaves on the trees or watching the sunrise. There is inspiration everywhere. All it takes in being present to receiving it. Choose to inspire others. Share your experiences with them failures and success and encourage them to go after their dreams.
Choose to be Carefree
Choose to leave anxiety and worry behind and be carefree. There will always be something to worry about. That is never going to change. But you can choose to be mindful about those worries. Accept them as a natural thing, then let them go. Free yourself from the tension that will build up in your shoulders, back and neck. You deserve to live a carefree life.
Choose to Empower
Empower yourself. Do things that make you feel confident and whole inside. Give yourself the power to create the life you deserve. Take a walk in nature, exercise, use affirmations, etc. Do anything that makes you feel empowered. Choose to empower others. Motivate others to be the best they can be. Motivate them to go after their dreams as you have yours. Empowering others can inspire them to create a change and empower the people that pass through their lives, therefore creating a cycle of empowerment.
Making the choice to be your true self and to go after your dreams is the most courageous thing you can do. It takes being willing to be judged and have other opinions thrown on you and being able to just let them go. It takes being able to quiet the inner critic and embracing yourself for who you are instead of for who you are not. Make the CHOICE to be you. Because the real you is the most beautiful you.
