Some Other’s Sake
You know you want to.
Just not now.
You know you will do it.
Just don’t know how.
You know you will get there,
but don’t know when.
Don’t want to rush
like you did then.
So you are careful,
though you just want to fly.
But the last time you did,
he made you cry.
Yet no one knows
if tomorrow will come,
and the door could close
with the setting sun.
So you sit with your heart,
and debate in your head
if you should act,
lest your chance be dead.
But I see it differently
I see it this way…
As long as you give
what you can for that day,
nothing is wasted.
Nothing’s in vain.
You cannot push
outside of your sane.
If you do, and you crumble,
If you do, and you break,
then what you did for your future,
was for some other’s sake.
