I have come as I will go – alone.
I have fallen as I have risen – alone.
I have sought as I have found – alone.
I have been a demon, as a light unto myself.
I have been nothing, and I have been all unto myself.
I have danced as I have stood – alone.
I awoke as I feel back into sleep – alone.
I have loved as I have longed – alone.
I have prayed as I have been blessed – alone.
Stars and seas have held my wanderings.
One moon and one sun witnessed my trials.
I have held on as I have collapsed, all on my own.
I waited as I ran and fought, on my own.
I walked upon highways and grass, alone.
I am here. I am here.
I have come all this way, whether blind or knowing, alone.
I have walked each step of the way, striding or stumbling, alone.
I have flowed the river, by stroke or by drift, alone.
I have kissed the stars, voided or full, all on my own.
I have spilled verse and heart, on my own.
I have sought as I have found – alone.
I have loved as I have longed – alone.
I have come all this way, whether blind or knowing, alone.
I have walked each step of the way, striding or stumbling, alone.
I have kissed the stars, voided or full, alone.
And so I rise, all on my own.
