You Didn’t Ask to Be A Lightworker. But You Got It.

You probably didn’t ask to be a Lightworker. You probably were just going on your merry way, living your life, being a rebel, making a mess of everything, and possibly being the black sheep of the family. In other words, a real f*ck-up.

You probably were the least likely person in the world to become a Lightworker and save the world. Sure, you always had a bright look about you. You always had a really powerful aura, and people always seemed to be drawn to you and listen to you. You even seemed like a leader. As a matter of fact, it sometimes amazed you that people were drawn to you like moths to a flame.

You probably also are a voracious reader who always has her nose in a book. You love dark poetry, can quote Rilke,  and plowed through all the college lit, Hunter Thompson and Tom Wolfe and other literary lights that were de rigeur hip to read. But then you started getting bored with their amoral take on life. You wanted more. You wanted to “do something with your life.” Suddenly you found that you were interested in more new agey types of books. Astrology. Wicca. Buddhism. Anything metaphysical that seemed to resonate with energy. You started to learn about Chakras and Crystals and meridians. And suddenly these new age artifacts didn’t seem so flaky anymore. Suddenly it all made sense. You became a believer. A new consciousness began to dawn on you. You started thinking about  teaching mindfulness and meditation.

It’s bigger than you. You have a calling. You. Yes You. You’re a Lightworker. Yeah, you’re a rebel. You’re a radical. You’re a radical because your point of view is radically different than the rest of the mainstream society. You really do believe in peace and love. You really do believe in non-violence. You really do believe that the earth can be healed by focusing on light and positive energy. You really do believe that your nightly meditations on light and love filling the planet are actually setting up vibratory patterns that are healing the planet.

The Universe has called you to be a Lightworker. You don’t even know how or why it happened. You just know that you can’t turn back from your path anymore. That you’ve connected with other Lightworkers and that together you’re a global community and you make a difference in this world. Yes, you, the dark child, the one that everyone thought was doomed, is the one who is shining the brightest of all.

So go with it.  You’re not really obligated to do the work. But you can’t really be free from it either. The work is never done. You know who you are. You’ve been called. It’s a cosmic karmic joke beloved. But you’re just the person to get the job done.  Namaste.
