Confronting our Privilege through Yoga.
Rachel Silverman, PhD is an Associate Professor of Communication at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a yogi for over 20 years. Her academic research highlights the intersection of gender performances as they relate to religion and sexuality in popular culture. She also specializes in women’s health narratives and the role of communication in medical education. For Rachel, whether in the yoga studio or the college classroom, teaching involves a passionate commitment to her students. Her yoga classes emphasize mindful movements, and she believes in yoga’s potential to expand the mind and heart while also expanding and strengthening the muscles.
