Ceilings for the Wild should Never Exist: a Tribute to my Brother.
Denver based artist, Angie Kitchens, began her journey to abstract art more than forty five years ago as a young explorative artsy teenager and it continued in the kitchen of her home, decorating cakes for friends and family. Her work and pursuit of expression continued through the years in floral design, wedding planning, catering, needlework, and as a seamstress and costume designer. She’s always been inspired by her love of color and textiles and influenced by her spiritual connection to people and nature, a thread that can be found through all of her work, no matter the medium. Kitchens’ great affection for the tactile can be found in the subtle textures of her canvas and paper pieces as she builds upon layers of paint and mark-making, adding dimension to her work. Kitchens was born and raised in the Southern part of the States, but has called Denver her home since 2017. She has been published in the GMC Library Magazine, Reflections (2014, 2015).
