Ash Poulson

Ash Poulson has come to this place seeking solace in her grief. For a long time, she’s held her grief close to her chest. Recently, she came across a love letter that she wrote in the midst of an old heartbreak and it inspired her to share it with others. There are times when she looks back at letters or journal entries and she can’t fathom that such words came from her. Why? She imagines it has something to do with the disconnect of her inner world and the outer world. Such things would never be said but in an intimate relationship. It’s only now, years later, that she sees her heart bleeding onto the page and thinks…this is beautiful and she wants to share it with others. She can read it from a place so far removed from what she was feeling then, revisit that intense love and sadness and it fells anew. She looks at her life and realizes that her heart led her back to this place, digging through old email threads to meet this version of herself. The one who knew a love so profound that she couldn’t help but try to fight for it in the end. And yet, she surrendered. She moved on and somewhere along the way, she forgot what it meant to feel so deeply. May her writings be a reminder to us all to strive for such truth to bleed from our hearts and love with such tenacity.
