How “Plasticity” can help us Break Free from the Roles that were Assigned…
Cristina Carballo-Perelman has been a neonatologist for the last 33+ years. Unfortunately, she and her female colleagues have experienced firsthand many of the misperceptions concerning the capability of women in the workplace. She has also seen how society continues to devalue women both in their careers and at home by placing greater value in beauty over brains. Her passion to write is therefore derived from wanting to help women become empowered both at work and at home. Several of her published books address how women can become better leaders through empowerment. She has also written and published a book about employees and their rights in the corporate world, another topic she is passionate about. Finally, as a physician, she has had firsthand experience with death and grieving families and wanted to empower those going through the grieving process with two published books on this topic. In addition, she has written and published a children’s book for ages 5-8, about a little girl whose animal friends teach her lessons to help her grow into an empowered adult. Presently, she lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband, where she continues to practice and write. Her other hobbies include gardening and vegan cooking (as she is also an animal activist).
