Rev. Connie L. Habash, MA, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, yoga and meditation teacher, interfaith minister, and author of Awakening from Anxiety: A Spiritual Guide to Living a More Calm, Confident, and Courageous Life. She’s been passionate about personal and spiritual growth since the age of 11, when she just knew that The Force really existed. Since then, her journey took her through her own personal healing of anxiety and depression, as well as supporting hundreds of others in transformation and awakening. Many fields interested her in college, including the humanities, drama, language, and social studies. But an epiphany revealed that psychology brought them all together. In 1987, she received her BA in Psychology from UC Irvine, followed it with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from JFK University in 1994, and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 1999.Her personal path has taken her through many spiritual traditions, including Native American, Taoism, African traditions, mystical Christianity, Buddhism, and her greatest love, Hinduism and Yoga philosophy. Connie discovered yoga in 1991, and immediately she knew she wanted to teach; two years later, that dream was realized. Her love of universal spiritual principles led her to interfaith studies, and was ordained as an interfaith minister through East-West Interfaith Seminary in 2012. More recently, her love of nature has blossomed into Ecotherapy work – counseling within the sacred space of nature.Rev. Connie regularly leads classes, workshops, women’s groups, yoga teacher trainings, and retreats, and has a counseling practice in Redwood City, CA. Her orientation towards personal and spiritual growth integrates body, mind, heart, and spirit from her years of experience on the yoga mat and in the therapist chair. When Connie isn’t seeing clients or teaching, she can be found spending time with her family, sitting (or weeding!) in her garden, hiking in the redwoods, or cuddling with her cat, Milo.
