Five Mindfulness-Strategies to empower your day, week and life – on this Auspic…
Spiritual Aspirant, Mother, Teacher, Artist, Musician and Public Speaker, Forest Bathing Facilitator, Family Harmony Coach, Author and Honorary grandmother to many, DurgaMata has been practising meditation for over 40 years. A teacher by profession, she specialised in two subjects – Religious Education and Art – DurgaMata taught for nearly 30 years. She has worked extensively to promote Inter-Faith and Inter-Cultural Understanding and Harmony while teaching – and on retirement she set up her company DurgaMata of London, to help people reduce the stress in their lives and experience the true happiness which is rooted in a greater awareness of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. When these aspects of our nature are balanced, we feel an inner peace and joy which is heart-deep. DurgaMata believes that for enduring happiness we need to raise our consciousness. High consciousness emotions come from the heart and expand to include everyone. Love, compassion, generosity, kindness, oneness and forgiveness are all high-consciousness emotions. Low consciousness emotions are divisive. They include criticism and blame, jealousy, fear and anger. How do we raise consciousness? It all starts with increased awareness of our thoughts and actions. Our consciousness is affected by everything we think and do, by the books we read and the films we watch – and by everyone we meet. We have choices at each moment. We can direct our thoughts and lives in a way that will increase our happiness. And that is where DurgaMata can help with her Seven Steps to Happiness Programme. Before Coronavirus appeared, DurgaMata gave two-day Wellbeing and Empowerment Workshops from her home in London, and she has now moved this Programme online. You can learn more from her website where her little book – The Seven Steps to Happiness – is available as a free download. (www.durgamataoflondon.com) DurgaMata believes that the community and friendships we create are as important as the strategies we learn. When we work together we promote empathy and greater understanding. May my Seven Steps to Happiness reduce fear-of-difference and contribute to a flood of harmony and oneness between diverse peoples, while empowering each individual to go forward in life with less stress, greater resilience and true, heart-deep happiness.
