How to Grow After a Professional Rut
Westchester Medical Center’s Chief of Plastic Surgery is Edmond Ritter. He began his academic career at the University of Cincinnati, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Creative Writing. This was followed by a graduate degree from St. Louis, Missouri’s Washington University School of Medicine.
Edmond completed his residency in general surgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. After a year as an intern, he was promoted to Junior Assistant Resident. Following a research year sabbatical in North Carolina, I was promoted to Assistant Resident one year later and then to Assistant Chief Resident the following year. Edmond opted to study Microvascular Research at Duke University Medical Center’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department in North Carolina. As Chief Resident, Edmond Ritter maintained his quest for New Jersey excellence in patient outcomes while mentoring other medical professionals.
