Elizabeth Herman is a licensed clinical social worker. She received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and her M.S.W. from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois Chicago. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Elizabeth began her career over 20 years ago at a residential treatment facility for children with co-occurring mental illness and behavioral disorders, and currently practices as a senior clinical therapist at Grow Wellness Group Therapy & Counseling in Naperville, IL. She has worked with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has provided services for a number of Chicago-land Employee Assistance Programs for which she conducted on-site workplace training, supervisor coaching, mediation and Critical Incident Debriefings as well as crisis and short-term counseling.
She believes in a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy with warmth and humor. Elizabeth utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused Therapy strategies to assist her patient’s in achieving their goals and reconnecting with their healthier self. Her clinical interests include caregiver stress, anxiety, depression, and career coaching.
