Traits That All Firefighters Should Have | Marty Lancton
Patrick Marty Lancton is a Houston native who has spent more than two decades serving his community on the front lines and through civic and charitable leadership. A decorated firefighter, paramedic, and advocate for working families, Marty’s career is rooted in courage, integrity, and service. He began his public safety journey in 2000 in Cedar Park, later serving with the West University Fire Department before joining the Houston Fire Department, where he continues to serve today.
In 2016, Marty was elected President of the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association, leading efforts to protect the safety, rights, and dignity of first responders. He later served as Vice President of the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters, expanding his impact statewide. Since 2015, Marty has chaired the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association Charitable Foundation, helping deliver critical support to families facing hardship and founding the Red Hot Gala, which has raised nearly $5 million for firefighters and underserved children.
A Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum and the British American Project, Marty believes deeply in servant leadership putting people before power and purpose before politics.
