My ‘it’s complicated’ Relationship with CorePower Yoga
I help those who are exhausted, isolated, struggling with shame or guilt find a way to acceptance, self-love, and recovery. I provide an effective non-judgmental, whole person, customized and discrete program that reminds people of their strengths and resilience. I focus on the present moment and how to live without the masks and self-loathing.
Bio
Ruth was transplanted from Southern Ontario to Naperville in 2003, with three, now grown and somewhat sassy, children. A famous dabbler, she has tried everything from float tanks to Hapkido, from Warrior Dashes to Improv comedy, but Yoga and Meditation have remained her physical, emotional and spiritual refuge and the only things that slow down her ‘madly off in all directions’ brain.
To complement her undergraduate degree in Biology and training and experience as a registered nurse in Ontario, Ruth completed multiple Yoga Teacher Trainings at the 200Hr and 300Hr levels in Illinois. She completed her 500Hr certification in 2018 with Wild Abundant Life with specialties in:
She also completed a Trauma-Informed Yoga Certification with Y12SR and teaches at Cook County Jail and leads small groups using this training.
She volunteers for and is on the Board of The P.I.E.Project, a community initiative that uses yoga, social awareness and creative expression to deliver impact, and believes in adopting sustainable funding methods that encourage charitable purpose, create local investment opportunities and provide unique yoga experiences that change the optimal health of an entire community.
She leads 200Hr and 300Hr teacher trainings in multiple formats.
She has a wicked cool crystal singing bowl tuned to the heart chakra, metal singing bowls, nine tuning pipes tuned to the sacred healing Solfeggio frequencies and one equally cool ocean drum to use in sound and vibrational healing to complement her Life Coaching. She uses doterra essential oils, Tarot and Oracle cards as complementary coaching options as well.
Ruth is also an avid mixed media artist, photographer, published writer, and editor. In her spare time, she can be found exploring Chicago with her daughters, hanging with her greyhound and parrot, or binge-watching BBC crime dramas.
She brings all her skills and experience into her Recovery Life Coaching sessions to deliver the best possible outcomes for her clients.
