There is a vicious, green witch in the female psyche that persistently incites us to compare ourselves to other women. It demands that we measure our weight, our breast size, our complexion, our careers, our talents, our qualities, our sexiness, our intellects, our wardrobes, our popularity and our whole lives with those of other women.4,731 views

Personally, I think the idea of Rumi and Shams being gay is one big contemporary projection. Not, of course, that being gay itself is a problem, but in this case I think it is unlikely. In the West, we don’t really have a tradition of the guru/disciple relationship we see in Sufism, Tantra and other ecstatic traditions of the East. Hence we tend to be overly skeptical, distrustful.1,052 views

In 1984, a Chilean torturer spoke on his experiences and said this: "You don't look at their face, even when you put prods in their mouth. You keep their eyes covered. The secret is not to look into their eyes." It's like that between our brains and our bodies.4,235 views

Music in yoga is like pizza – even when it’s bad it’s still pretty damn good. Start with a song that matches your cadence…for me it tends to be “We Gotta get out of this Place” by the Animals or “For What it’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield. For you, it could be anything. Let it be something that’s electrifying to you; it’ll make you excited to teach!826 views

Life has all the processes that you need to learn. You don’t come with this knowledge. And the market took over this process of the transmission of experience, which is a profit strategy. You are not going to turn into a Maori to avoid this, but you can regulate the extent to which you are a victim of consuming an image or how much you appropriate from these images in the crafting of yourself963 views
