Up until now, there had been no indication that this whole situation was anything other than a very fortunate co-incidence. I just happened to be looking around the same temple as a stone collector, who just happened to stand under the same doorway as me when it started raining. One thing led to another and now I just happened to be in the office of a famous Thai jewelry store falling in love with the most beautiful woman in the world, figuring out how I was going to become the wealthiest 21 year old in history. It just happened to be my lucky day!1,237 views

I shed tears tonight at the death of Troy Davis. While it seems his guilt was a far cry from certain, a State in our Union decided it was just to kill him. Regardless of my very human emotions, any death of another human being at the hands of my brothers and sisters saddens me.2,306 views

As the lights died on Arcade Fire's festival-closing cinematographic set Sunday night, you could almost feel the shift. "We're not gonna see you guys for a couple years," frontman Win Butler said near the end of the set, "so take care of yourselves." It was a changing of the guard.558 views

Then it hit me. I was trying too hard. I was too focused on the physical aspects of the yoga that I had lost myself. Like so many other yogi's I am a typical “type A” personality, striving to see results and to measure progress by the performance of my asanas.619 views

What do people do now that cell phone cameras are replacing regular cameras... and it's hard to find a tripod to mount the phones for those group portraits where you want to include yourself? The yogic tripod is not, I repeat, not a solution to this issue, but it is a nice little inversion/hip opener/quadriceps stretcher.610 views

That juniper tree I once loved is out there right now, standing in the yellow grass, slowly, imperceptibly growing, holding the feet and prying beaks of chittering bushtits and sparrows. Its square-checked bark slowly desiccates on the trunk, its deep-pale green boughs gently bob in the breeze. Where does the wind come from?337 views

Playfully loving each moment without the preoccupation of anything other than the present. We are love, peace and joy. These aren’t emotions. They are aspects that define our being.
