My boss' boss and her boss took me into their office and informed me that my department of three people was to be dissolved immediately, I would no longer be a manager and instead my position was "re-structured" to a mere function of training for basic applications. If my salary was to be cut off or not was to be determined at a later time. WHAT!?1,517 views

They are borrowed directly from oral teachings of Acharya Dharmanidhi, founder of Adi Yoga and Trika Institute, which are both schools for the preservation and dissemination of classical, Non-dual Shaivist Tantra (NST).567 views

It is a call to the masses, to join together, get involved, to assert your power, and your rights. It is beautiful. It is powerful, and I would have to question your humanity if you were not moved by at least one of the lamentations listed in this Declaration of the Occupation of New York City.2,803 views

Through the virtuous action of their visionary meditation and yogic practice, mountain yogis become the conduits of an enlightened intentionality that acts upon the world in unseen ways. Milarepa himself stated how the relationship between the layperson and the yogi renunciate was mutually beneficial.1,066 views

It isn’t that the words mean less to me. It isn’t that I have more love to give than other people. It isn’t that I’ve always received as much love as I’ve given, or that I never get hurt. It isn’t that I’m fearless. It’s just that I figured out the secret.1,978 views

Small stones are everywhere, all of the time. All you have to do is pause and let them appear. You’ll know when you see one, because it will set off a small burst of feeling inside you. It might be that you really notice the ugliness of a piece of chewed gum on the pavement, or the beauty of a pigeon, or vice versa. An overheard snippet of conversation might strike you as amusing, or strange. Whatever you notice, you will be noticing it with fresh eyes.554 views

Yoga brings hidden parts of our selves to the surface. It’s a safe place to explore and let go. Our mats become a haven; where we challenge our limits, quiet our mind, and release our pain.842 views

There's a subtle judgment that I've perceived in the world of yoga against Bikram Yoga. Amongst some yogis there's this idea that Bikram is not real yoga. Or not good yoga. Or not good for you. Or something. There's suspicion about Bikram himself, about the yoga competitions that he and his wife run, about the concept of getting yoga into the Olympics (yep, that's one of their goals - yoga in the Olympics). About Bikram being McYoga. That is, Bikram Yoga has all of the appearance of Yoga with none of the goodness.5,736 views

But also according to Tantra, there is a changeless Self, which never changes, to which the changing self wakes up, discovers, embraces, and is absorbed into through transformative expansion. Thus there is both transformation and no-transformation. Change and no-change.1,940 views

Humans think in terms of what we are “not” doing, and, in fact, the only way to think about not doing something is to imagine doing it. So, when you tell that small child not to open the drawer, you leave him or her imagining what might happen if the drawer is opened and the desire to do so just increases. It's much the same with "dieting."880 views

Recognizing that we can handle what life throws at us with grace and strength means we can approach life with the intention to love more, harm less, let go, hang on, and learn. That is what we're practicing when we fully engage in yoga.1,210 views
